On Tuesday afternoon, the Boys and Girls Swim teams claimed a victory in their first swim meet of the season against Saint Johns Classical Academy and Hilliard at Dye Clay YMCA.

MVP of the meet was Sawyer Hampton (SO) who secured 1st place twice in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 0:26.10, and in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:14.83. He also played in the 200 yard medley relay as backstroker and in the 400 yard free relay as the anchor. Both relays went on to place 1st.

Kenzie McCool (JR) competing in the girls's 50 yard freestyle took first place with a time of 0:36.42, edging out Hilliard competitors at 0.34 seconds. In a tight race to the finish, Senior Layla Manis quickly followed in suit and swept in half a second before Hilliard securing 3rd place with a time of 37.44

Middleburg will compete at the Clay County Relay on Tuesday, September 3rd at 4:30 pm.
