Starting off their season against Providence High School with scores of 25-12, 25-16, and 25-11, leading to an overall 3-0 sweep. Everyone heavily contributed to the win, including seniors Olivia Callipo, Brooke Forkum, and Morgan Padgett, as well as juniors Camden Rahn, Kate Lowery and Ally Lowery. In their first ever varsity match, Maysie Bader (SO) and Allie Anschuetz (SO) played key roles in securing victory for the team. Bader scored 4 kills and 1 block, while Anschuetz scored 1 kill, 2 assists, and 4 major digs.
The Broncos would go on to secure victories against Spruce Creek and Nease High School. Both games were won with a final score of 3-0. In the match against Spruce Creek, Middleburg took the first set 25-19, and despite being down 19-21 in the second set, the Lady Broncos rallied back to a 25-23 victory. In their second home matchup, Middleburg faced the Nease Panthers. The Lady Broncos played extremely well, with the MVP being Morgan Padgett (SR), who had a near-perfect game and had an average pass rate of 2.75.
In late August, the Broncos competed in the Nike Tournament of Champions and brought home an impressive 4 wins. They claimed victory against Bob Jones High School and Forest High School with 2-1 as the scores. They also swept Jackson Academy and Timber Creek High School with scores of 2-0. Finishing as Silver Champions in the Premier Division.
In September, the Broncos claimed 3 of their last 4 matches. Middleburg took a sweeping 3-0 victory against Clay High. Next, versus top-ranked opponent Ponte Vedra, the Broncos battled in a full 5-set match, leading to a victory with a final score of 3-2. The girls successfully cracked Ponte Vedras strong defense and won the final set 15-11, securing the win on the road. Over the weekend, the Lady Broncos played in a weekend doubleheader with matches vs. Lincoln and Chile. In their match versus Lincoln High School, Brooke Forkum (SR) led the charge with 21 kills, followed closely by Camden Rahn (JR) with 21 kills and Olivia Callipo (SR) with 32 assists. They would go on to drop their second match in a tough 3-1 loss to Chiles. The Broncos will face Chiles again in October. Middleburg Volleyball currently holds a record of 10-3, ranked first in the district and 31st in the state.
Their next match will take place on September 12th at 6:30 pm against Fleming Island at Fleming Island High School.
